THE RING THAT BECAME THE MAIN SYMBOL OF LOVE

We want our jewelry to tell a story and represent significant emotions or moments.Toi et moi translates to "you and me" and refers to a popular style of ring that features two gemstones opposite each other with interlocking gold bands representing a union between two people.

The history of the toi et moi ring is quite long and goes back to the 18th century, when Napoleon Bonaparte proposed to Josephine de Beauharnais with an engagement ring with a blue sapphire and white diamond ring set in gold. This union was fiercely opposed by Napoleon's family, as Josephine was a widow with children from a previous marriage and, besides, six years older than Napoleon. As we know their marriage didn’t last long and they divorced a few years later after their marriage though they reportedly remained devoted to each other. In 2013 Empress Josephine's toi et moi ring became a sensation when it was auctioned in France and sold for nearly $1 million due to its eminent provenance.

Modern toi et moi rings differ from traditional ones and instead of gemstones feature various decorative elements on the opposite ends of a ring band.

Inspired by shape, meaning and history of the popular ring, we proposed our interpretation of “two-have-become-one” symbolism. Our story is slightly different, it’s about a two-person-show, different sides of the same coin, a yin yang, where a colorful vibrant part reflects in a polish cold silver complementing each other.

The two sides are interconnected and counterbalanced. They are drawn to each other, like a thread to a needle, like a pulsation of one vibration, like oppositely charged poles of a magnet. Only in a genuine union with yourself and with another person, we find what we are looking for: complete compatibility, boundless trust and enchanting happiness.
